Newly Renovated Great Neck Area Library Now Open
Virginia Beach Public Library's Great Neck branch is open today, Monday, March 20, after seven months of renovations. Customers will find new meeting and study rooms, refreshed program spaces, updated restrooms, new carpeting throughout the building, and more.
Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
About the Renovations
Great Neck Area Library renovations were funded as part of a $5.8 million Capital Improvement Program (CIP) awarded in 2016 to renovate eight of 10 VBPL locations — all except for the TCC/City Joint-Use Library, built in 2013, and Wahab Public Law Library, which was renovated separately in 2018. Renovations were completed at Princess Anne, Bayside, Kempsville and Central libraries in 2019, at Pungo-Blackwater in 2020, at Windsor Woods in 2021 and at Oceanfront in 2022.
