The Health Services Advisory Board actively participates with community representatives in the formulation of a comprehensive plan for the development, coordination and evaluation of the local health services system and makes recommendations to City Council and Virginia Beach Department of Public Health (VBDPH) annually concerning the comprehensive plan.

  • Composition Requirements: Between 10 and 15 members who include representatives of health care providers, recipients of health department services, representatives of state and local agencies with programs operated in conjunction with the Virginia Beach Health Department and representatives of the public at large.
  • Meeting Dates: Second Thursday of February, April, June, August, October and December at 5:45 p.m. 
  • Location: The meetings are held at the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health building(4452 Corporation Lane Virginia Beach).
  • Term Length: 3 years
