Represent the Mayor's Office throughout the community, as directed by the mayor assist in identifying and defining the needs of seniors.

Members must be Virginia Beach residents and they are appointed by the mayor to serve for a three-year term without compensation. Apply today!
Meetings are open to the public and are typically held from 2-4 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month in City Hall - Building 1, Room 1009, 2401 Courthouse Drive unless otherwise specified. Each year, the commission presents awards for exceptional accomplishments in service to senior citizens. Nominations are submitted for individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to promote change or provide new services for senior citizens of Virginia Beach within the past year benefitting a large segment of the senior community.
Nomination forms are available through the Office of the Mayor or online when the application period is open. The awards are presented at the annual Senior Showcase.
To officially recognize individuals whose service to seniors has been exceptional. The service or initiative must have extended significantly beyond the requirements of employment duties and responsibilities.
