Mini-Golf in the Library: Foundation Fundraiser Promises “Hole” Lot of Fun
The Virginia Beach Library Foundation (VBLF) is hosting Mini-Golf in the Library, a fun-filled fundraiser with two separate events on Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library. Serious mini-golfers and casual players alike will have a ball while puttering around the library and raising funds to support youth literacy, outreach, emerging technology and other programs that benefit Virginia Beach residents.
The Fairway Frolic is an after-hours, shot-gun style tournament Friday, Oct. 27, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for adults ages 21 and older, with dinner by Mermaid Catering. Cash bar available. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door, or $150 for sets of four, and may be purchased at www.vblibraryfoundation.org/minigolf. The Fairway Frolic is presented by Rob and Ann Krebs.
Library Links, for families, library-lovers and putt-putt enthusiasts of all ages, is Saturday, Oct. 28 during library operating hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $2 per person or $10 for a group of six, available at the door only. Library-goers can putt their way through the Central Library while enjoying family-friendly activities and browsing the shelves. Library Links is presented by Buzzy and Jo Ann Hofheimer.
“The Virginia Beach Library Foundation fundraises for library programs that bring our community together to learn and grow,” said Foundation Board Member and Special Events Chair Michelle Sweezey. “We’re excited to raise money and putt through the library. Come join us for the fun!”
“Hole-in-Fun” sponsor Jungle Golf will be on hand during Saturday’s Library Links to award prizes to anyone who sinks a hole-in-one. Additional sponsors include Bischoff Martingayle, PC, Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, Beach Eye Care, Book Exchange and Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union. Sponsorships are still available.
