Recovering from a disaster takes time and requires participation from the whole community. Below are some resources that may be available during the recovery process.
The City will coordinate with volunteer organizations to provide support following a disaster.
Members of the Virginia Beach Community Emergency Response Team (VBCERT) can assist others in their neighborhoods or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
Federal funds to aid in the recovery process may be available to you following a major disaster declaration. The money available does not often cover the total cost of recovery and is designed to be used as a supplemental source of funding.
The City's emergency site will be activated in the event of a natural disaster or significant event to keep residents and visitors up to date with important related information.
