More Than Just a Summer Job

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation's Youth Opportunities Office is seeking Virginia Beach residents ages 16-21 for the 2025 Summer Youth Employment Program. Each year, this career-building opportunity employs over 100 individuals to work at various City agencies and private businesses.

Interested applicants looking to have a meaningful summer job experience that provides financial literacy skills, mentorship, workplace readiness, coaching, an opportunity to earn money and more are encouraged to apply.

Participants will work 27 hours per week during the eight-week program, which runs from June 16 to Aug. 6. Orientation is from June 16-20 and the first day on the job is June 23. Applicants will be screened, interviewed and matched with prospective employers by SYEP staff.

In 2024, SYEP employed 137 individuals across 17 city agencies and six private businesses.
