Virginia Beach Updates Operating Conditions for Winter Storm

​Due to pending storm conditions, the City of Virginia Beach will remain under Essential Operating Conditions until Sunday, Jan. 23 at 8 a.m.

The Virginia Beach Sports Center will have a delayed opening of 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22 and the volleyball tournament is set to proceed.

The following City affiliated sites will be closed Saturday, Jan. 22:

• Landfill and Resource Recovery Center
• Libraries
• Mount Trashmore (sledding is prohibited) and all parks
  
• Recreation Centers
• The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts box office
• The Thoroughgood House
• The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center
• West Neck Recycling Center
  

Additional Waste Management update:
Curbside service of trash, yard waste and bulky item collection is complete. Recycling service will continue for Thursday and Friday routes—with carryover into the weekend and Monday. Please leave your recycling cart at the curb.
