VBPD Make Quick Arrest in Lake Edward Drive Homicide

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, Friday, July 28, 2023 – On July 27, 2023, at 4:02 P.M., Virginia Beach Emergency Communication & Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a gunshot victim at a residence on Lake Edward Drive.

Upon arrival, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) found Josiah Chambers (M/26) of Virginia Beach suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to Chambers before he was transported to a local hospital. Chambers later succumbed to his injury.

Police arrested A'Lycia Coleman (F/24) of Virginia Beach at the scene. Coleman was charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
