VBPD and NPD’s Joint Efforts Lead to Quick Arrest following Robbery of a Citizen

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Aug. 27, 2022, at approximately 2:25 p.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to the 4300 block of Holland Road for the report of a robbery.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was loading groceries into her vehicle when multiple armed subjects approached her. They demanded property and assaulted the victim prior to fleeing in a vehicle.

VBPD Crime Suppression Squad (CSS) officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle a short time later. After a brief vehicle and foot pursuit, and with the help of the Norfolk Police Department (NPD), three individuals were taken into custody without incident.

The suspects were identified as Taquan Robinson, (M/18) of Norfolk, Taveon Calhoun, (M/18) of Norfolk, and a juvenile (M/17). All three suspects were charged with Robbery, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
