***UPDATE*** Two Arrests Made in Homicide Investigation – Lone Holly Lane

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – VBPD Homicide Detectives have identified and arrested two suspects from the July 20, 2022, homicide and malicious wounding incident that occurred in the 5600 Block of Lone Holly Lane. Johnathan Cook-Lawrence, (M/20) of North Carolina, was located and arrested that day. He was charged with Accessory After the Fact – Murder and has been extradited back to Virginia Beach.

On August 11, 2022, the second suspect, Joshua James, (M/18) of Virginia Beach, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Malicious Wounding, and two counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On July 20, 2022, approximately 12:28 AM, the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) received a Shot Spotter Alert in the 5600 block of Lone Holly Lane. VBPD officers assigned to the Third Precinct responded to the area and located two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Lifesaving efforts were made by officers with the assistance of Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The first victim (M/19) of Virginia Beach, was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. A second male victim, age 18, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is said to be in stable condition.
