Virginia Beach Partners with Technology Firm on New Center for Manufacturing Initiatives

A new Virginia Beach partnership will celebrate the opening of a center for manufacturing initiatives next week. 

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development and Maxbyte Technologies, an Abu Dhabi-based technology firm, will celebrate the ribbon cutting on Sept. 12 for the opening of Maxbyte’s Industry 4.0 Centre of Excellence (CoE). 

Hosted at the Virginia Beach Workforce Training Center in the Advanced Technology Center at Tidewater Community College, the new center will support and accelerate smart manufacturing initiatives, technological evolution and global industrial empowerment.

Industry 4.0, which is synonymous with smart manufacturing, is the realization of the digital transformation of the field, delivering real-time decision making, enhanced productivity, flexibility and agility to revolutionize the way companies manufacture, improve and distribute their products.   

Virginia Beach and Maxbyte have forged a significant partnership, aiming to drive innovation and growth in the field of manufacturing Industry 4.0 through the center.   

“This collaboration aims to provide experience, learning and adapting of Industry 4.0 practices for industrial enterprises and upskill engineering professionals,” said Virginia Beach Deputy City Manager Amanda Jarratt. “The CoE will empower manufacturers to increase productivity, strengthen capabilities and achieve business excellence.” 

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is excited to explore opportunities to engage engineering students from the Advanced Technology Center and Landstown High School Governor’s STEM Academy in training opportunities with the Maxbyte CoE.
