Two Arrests Made in Catalytic Converter Thefts
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On August 16, 2022, at approximately 5:23 AM, officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to Hall Toyota located in the 1800 block of Laskin Road. Upon the officers’ arrival they were informed that several catalytic converters had just been removed from vehicles in the lot. During their preliminary investigation the officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle on I-264 with two subjects inside. The officers also located the stolen property in the vehicle.
Ronald Mayhew, (M/28) of Portsmouth, VA, was arrested and charged with two counts of Catalytic Converter Theft, two counts of Destruction of Property, two counts of Conspiracy, and Possession of Burglary Tools. Justin Dillon, (M/51) of Virginia Beach, was also arrested and charged with two counts of Catalytic Converter Theft, two counts of Destruction of Property, two counts of Conspiracy, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
