Two Adults and One Pet Perish in Monday Morning Fire

​ VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Dec. 05, 2022— On Monday, Dec. 5, at 11:11 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 1300 Block of Virginia Beach Blvd., near the intersection of Birdneck Road. Upon arrival, the first engine on scene investigated heavy smoke from a single bay at Beach Outdoor Storage. Witnesses indicated they heard a loud explosion prior to firefighters arriving on scene. Firefighters searched the building and located two deceased adults, one male and one female, as well as a deceased dog.

The circumstances of the fire and the exact cause of the deaths are still under investigation by the Virginia Beach Fire Department. The identity of the victims has not been released at this time.
