Traffic Signal Work to Begin at Oceanfront Nov. 14

Virginia Beach Public Works has announced that signal construction at the intersection of Winston Salem Avenue/5th Street and Pacific Avenue will begin on Monday, Nov. 14.

Work will begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m. each day, excluding weekends and special events. The project is expected to be completed by Thursday, Nov. 23.

There will be a temporary lane closure on Winston Salem Avenue/5th Street and Pacific Avenue for left turns and thru traffic at the intersection.

Left turn traffic for northbound and southbound Pacific Avenue will be restricted briefly during signal arm installation.

The work is likely to produce some traffic delays, congestion, and some construction noise. Advanced warning signs will be posted advising motorists of lane closures.

Citizens are urged to use alternate traffic routes whenever possible.

All scheduled work is weather permitting.
