ShotSpotter Arrest

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On January 1, 2023, at approximately 12:40 A.M., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) received a ShotSpotter Alert in the 900 block of Maximus Square. As the ShotSpotter alert was dispatched, another incident in the 500 block of N. Birdneck Road occurred involving brandishing of a firearm.

As officers arrived, they observed several people in the parking lot at 525 N. Birdneck Road. Officers were able to locate multiple bullet casings across the street from the parking lot, on Maximus Square. From their investigation, officers were able to identify the individual who fired the rounds into the air.

Da'Mon Beach, (M/30) of North Chesterfield, was arrested and charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm.
