Regional Scavenger Hunt Highlights Lesser-Known Library Treasures, Chance to Win iPad Air
Most people know that they can visit their local library, get a free library card and check out books. But many people miss the full story of what libraries offer, including e-books and other digital media, events for all ages and access to technology – all for free.
To help their community members learn something new and find free things to do at their libraries, Chesapeake Public Library, Hampton Public Library, Newport News Public Library, Northumberland Public Library, Poquoson Public Library, Portsmouth Public Library, Suffolk Public Library and Virginia Beach Public Library have partnered to host a digital scavenger hunt during National Library Week, April 24 -29, 2023. The scavenger hunt features nine activities that can be completed in a library branch or online from home, all encouraging usage and discovery of library resources and services. There's also the chance to win prizes including an iPad Air.
Join the Scavenger Hunt
Visit your participating library system online to register anytime now through April 29. Between April 24 – 29, 2023, complete and track activities on the scavenger hunt digital bingo card. Score at least one bingo (three activity squares across, diagonally, or up and down) by April 29 for the chance to win a prize from your local library, and a regional grand prize, an iPad Air. Prize winners will be notified by May 4.
