October is Officially Fall Cleanup Month in Virginia Beach
The Virginia Beach City Council is encouraging neighborhoods, community groups, civic organizations, non-profits, and businesses throughout the City to support community-wide goals for clean, healthy, and beautiful waterways by hosting clean-up events in October.
According to the 2020 Keep America Beautiful National Litter Study, there are nearly 50 billion pieces of litter along U.S. roadways and waterways. Clean waterways and clean communities help make Virginia Beach a healthier place to live for residents and have the added benefit of attracting new businesses, visitors, and homeowners to the city.
Removing 50 billion pieces of litter may seem overwhelming but it amounts to only 152 pieces of litter per person. Help be part of the movement to pick up 152 pieces of litter by taking an active role in keeping Virginia Beach beautiful.
