Malicious Wounding - Shooting

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On February 18, 2022, at approximately 0202, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers were in the vicinity of Vibes Lounge in the 300 block of North Great Neck Road when they heard multiple shots fired. A traffic stop was conducted on one of the fleeing vehicles and an occupant was located with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim is expected to make a full recovery from their injuries. Additionally, a nearby business was struck by gunfire during this incident but there were no injuries to the individuals inside.

After an extensive investigation, detectives identified one of the shooters as Jonathan Caban, a 38-year-old male from Virginia Beach. Warrants were obtained on Mr. Caban for Shooting into an Occupied Building, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, Aggravated Malicious Assault, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Mr. Caban was arrested without incident on 02/23/22.
