Homicide Investigation with Arrest – 300 block Riverwood Court

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Dec. 11, 2022, at approximately 5:19 p.m., the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) received a report of two individuals arriving at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Evan Labella, M/18, of Virginia Beach, was pronounced deceased by hospital personnel. The second victim was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to their lower extremities.

Cameron Mooty, M/18, of Virginia Beach, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Use of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
