Homicide Investigation – King Charles Court

On June 9, 2022, at approximately 3:00 PM, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers assigned to the Second Precinct were dispatched to the 1900 block of King Charles Court for reports of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a single victim. Lifesaving efforts were attempted by the police officers with the assistance of Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services (EMS) but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Da’Myrian Jacob Durel (M/18) of Virginia Beach. Next of kin were on scene and notified of his passing.
