Homicide Investigation – 5800 block Pickering Street
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Dec. 3, 2022, at about 2:20 a.m., the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) received a report of gunshots in the 5800 block of Pickering Street. VBPD officers responded to the area and located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving efforts were made by officers until Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived and took over.
The victim was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as Gabriel Martinez, (M/24) of Chesapeake, and his family has been notified.
