Firearms Violation with Immediate Arrest

On June 11, 2022, at 3:30 PM, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to reported gunshots near the intersection of Rosemont Road and Dam Neck Road. It was reported that a male fired multiple gunshots into a wooded area. Officers were able to locate the suspect quickly and took him into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered from his person

Leslie Bennett (M/40) of Virginia Beach, was charged with Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon without a permit.
