Fatal Motorcycle Crash in 1900 Block of Laskin Rd.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, May 3, 2023 – On April 22, 2023, around 5:00 PM, dispatch received a call for a crash in the 1900 block of Laskin Road.

Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene and determined a motorcycle with two riders, traveling westbound on Laskin Road had collided with a pickup truck, causing another vehicle to swerve into the left median.

Both riders were ultimately thrown from the motorcycle after the collision. The motorcycle operator sustained minor injuries while the passenger, Haley Hensley (F/19) of Virginia Beach sustained serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital on April 23, 2023.

The two other motorists were uninjured and remained on-scene during the investigation. Charges for the motorcycle operator are pending at this time.

This case remains under investigation by investigators assigned to the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit.
