Fatal Crash Investigation Involving a Pedestrian – 4800 Baxter Road
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Aug. 6, 2022, at approximately 7:42 a.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 4800 block of Baxter Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a SUV was traveling on Baxter Road when an adult male entered the roadway. The male was then struck by the vehicle and subsequently transported to a local hospital for the treatment of his injuries. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
On August 8, 2022, the VBPD Special Operations Bureau’s Traffic Safety Unit was notified that the pedestrian had succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash. The pedestrian was identified as Ronald Ellis, (M/73) of Virginia Beach.
This case is being actively investigated by the VBPD Special Operations Bureau’s Traffic Safety Unit.
