Fatal Crash Investigation – 1700 block of Shore Drive

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On November 28, 2022, at 1:07 P.M., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were dispatched to a fatal one-vehicle crash in the 1700 block of Shore Drive. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Carter Watrous, (M/32) of Virginia Beach, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.
