Fatal Crash Investigation – 1600 block of Salem Road
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On August 2, 2022, approximately 5:32 PM, crash investigators from the Virginia Beach Police Department’s (VBPD) Special Operations Bureau responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Salem Road and Beckenham Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling in the 1600 block of Salem Road when it struck a passenger vehicle within the intersection. The operator of the motorcycle, Daniel Dill, (M/20) was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. Dill’s next of kin have been notified. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of the minor injuries sustained during the crash.
