City of Virginia Beach Receives State Award for Internship Opportunities

​The City of Virginia Beach is a recipient of the 2023 "Top Employers for Interns" award from the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) and 757 Regional Internship Collaborative, Region 5. The annual award recognizes Virginia employers who provide high-quality internships to students.

"Working with students as they explore their futures has been very rewarding," said Monica Kopin, the City's director of human resources for talent acquisition and workforce development. "We've been putting more emphasis on building our internship program so students realize the variety of occupations and opportunities that exist within the City of Virginia Beach. Our hope is that their positive experience and the relationships they build will lead them to apply here at some point in their careers."

V-TOP is administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia in partnership with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Virginia Business Higher Education Council.
