Arrest Made in Recent Shooting Offense

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Dec. 17, 2022, at 8:29 P.M., Virginia Beach ECCS received a 9-1-1 call for a gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Waterfront Drive involving one victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) arrived on scene and administered first aid until the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.The VBPD Detective Bureau developed a suspect and obtained warrants for Josiah Tanoah Flores (M/19) of Stafford, VA. On December 21, 2022, Flores was arrested in Stafford, VA by the Stafford Sheriff’s Department with assistance by the VBPD Warrant Fugitive Squad. Flores is charged with Felony Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
