Arrest Made for Voluntary Manslaughter Case

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Aug. 11, 2022, at approximately 11:16 p.m., Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) police officers responded to a business located in the 3200 block of Shore Drive for the report of an assault.

The investigation revealed that a physical altercation had occurred between two individuals while at the business. During the exchange, one of the individuals sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was identified as Wesley Horbal, (M/26) of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

On August 25, 2022, detectives with the VBPD Detective Bureau were notified that the victim had succumbed to their injuries and had been pronounced deceased.

Horbal was arrested and charged with Voluntary Manslaughter on August 29, 2022.
