Arrest Made After Officers Follow “Trail” of Food Wrappers in Burglary and Tampering with Motor Vehicle Case

​VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Aug. 15, 2022, at approximately 7:40 a.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department’s (VBPD) were dispatched to Laskin Endodontics, which is in the 1300 block of Laskin Road, for the report of an insecure door.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they observed that someone had entered the business. The preliminary investigation revealed numerous items had been taken from the business to include food. Officers located a “trail” of Little Debbie food wrappers which lead them to a concealed location nearby. There, the officers located an individual who was in possession of the missing property from the burglary. The officers also located and recovered property taken from a vehicle belonging to the Sugar Plum Bakery.

The suspect was identified as Troy Brink, (M/52) of Virginia Beach. He has been arrested and charged with Burglary, Auto Tampering, Auto Tampering-Destruction, and Possession of Stolen Property (x2).
