Additional Members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) USAR Activated to Support Response to Tropical Cyclone Milton

Seventeen additional members of Virginia Task Force 2 have been activated effective 0800 hours, Monday, October 7, 2024, as a Mission Ready Package-Water Rescue and will deploy from the FEMA Warehouse, 513 Viking Drive, Ste. 9, at 1100 hours, Monday, October 7, 2024, where they are expected to arrive in Atlanta, Georgia, later Monday afternoon. 

In addition, six members of VA-TF2 left Sunday morning for Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the RED IST. 

Both groups will rendezvous with FEMA IST in Atlanta, Georgia, to stage for possible movement into Florida, to respond to Tropical Cyclone Milton, and assist local agencies with requests for assistance as needed.
