Music fans trusted that after bringing SOMETHING IN THE WATER (SITW) back to the Beach, Pharrell Williams would deliver on ensuring that the 2023 event would be bigger and better than ever. With a cross-generational slate of artists from several different genre’s, just about everyone can find an act they’re excited to see.
With the likes of Lil Wayne, Mumford & Sons, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Uzi Vert, Jazmine Sullivan, Maren Morris, the Wu-Tang Clan, Grace Jones and another local product – Jay Pharoah – slated to headline the late April music festival, it looks like he won’t disappoint.
Check out the full list of acts at somethinginthewater.com.
Also of note is an act on the lineup billed as “PHARRELL'S PHRIENDS” – in 2019, these surprise guests included the likes of Jay-Z, Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott and Timbaland, however, this year’s phriends remain a mystery.
The 2023 SITW will be held April 28-30 at the Oceanfront and is expected to feature two large stages at 3rd and 10th streets on the beach. This year’s festival will also include free events for everyone, including non-ticket holders. Be sure to check out vendors, local entertainers and more staged at the 17th, 24th and 31stStreet parks. Three-day general admission tickets are still available at somethinginthewater.com.
The Virginia Beach Restaurant Association has also announced a “Something on the Menu” event to be held in conjunction with SITW (April 23-30) and will feature menus relating to the festival. Specialty items may include appetizers, beverages, brunch/lunch, dinner entrees and desserts. Participating restaurants will soon be available.
