New Portrait Collection Merges Art and Science with Color and Light
Free exhibit on view at the Sandler Center for Performing Arts, June 7-Sept. 2.
The latest Sandler Center for the Performing Arts Art Gallery exhibition invites viewers into a vivid world of art that celebrates the visible light spectrum and explores the unseen realms beyond it. This thought-provoking collection of portraits uses color as a powerful narrative, unraveling the mysteries of light and its impact on our lives.Â
“The Great Gamut: Exploring the Electromagnetic Spectrum,” by Hampton Roads-based artist Poetry Jackson, is on view now through Sept. 2 whenever the Sandler Center box office is open, as well as to event ticketholders during Sandler Center events. The Sandler Center and Sandler Center Foundation will host a free, public opening reception for this exhibition, 6-8 p.m., June 24.Â
The artist masterfully harnesses the power of hue and tone to breathe life into her subjects, capturing not only their likeness but also their essence. This powerful exhibition merges art and science, exploring the unseen energies that shape our world. Â
