ICYMI: Councilmember Barbara Henley Hosted a District 2 Community Meeting March 23

The Councilmember covered topics including roadway projects, an update on the recent Avangrid public meeting and a first look at the proposed FY2023-24 City Budget.

Councilmember Barbara Henley’s District 2 Monthly Community Meeting was held on Thursday, March 23. These District 2 meetings are typically held the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The Councilmember opened the meeting with a drone video of Sandbridge/Nimmo VII-B right-of-way that showed what the project is expected to look like once complete followed by a presentation from Public Works employees Dave Jarman and Ryan Johnson.

Ms. Henley then gave updates on district soil, stormwater and road projects. She also gave updates on the upcoming series of public meetings concerning the election system, fielded questions, and provided an update on the upcoming 2023 North Landing River & Albemarle Sound Estuarine Symposium on March 31, an update on the recent Avangrid public meeting, and shared a first look at the proposed FY 2023-24 City budget.

She concluded the meeting with updates on upcoming projects that will go before the Planning Commission and City Council and encouraged residents in attendance to contact the City Communications Department for a schedule of the public meetings concerning the election system.

Councilmember Henley's next meeting will be Thursday, April 27 in Building 19.
