Caring For Our Parks: Help Keep Virginia Beach Parks Beautiful

Report any issues you come across in City parks using easy online form.

Miyazaki Japanese Garden at Red Wing Park

Our City parks are shared spaces for residents and visitors to relax and connect with nature. With so many people visiting these green spaces daily, it’s essential that they remain safe, clean and well-maintained. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help!

Be our eyes on the ground

Whether it’s a broken bench, an overgrown path or damaged playground equipment, you are our best resource for identifying problems quickly. As community members who use these parks the most, you know better than anyone when something isn’t quite right. Reporting issues when you see them helps ensure our parks stay in top shape for everyone to enjoy.

Examples of what to report include damaged playground equipment, beehives or wasp nests, damaged tennis nets, broken athletic lighting, sink holes, graffiti, fallen trees or vandalized bathrooms, shelters or picnic areas.

How to report issues

It is easier than ever to report any issues you come across in City parks. By using the Parks & Landscape Services Request form, you can inform us about anything that needs attention – no matter how small. Here’s how it works:

  • Visit our online tool: Go to the Parks & Landscape Services Request form to report any issues.
  • Report location: Provide information including the park or facility name, street address and details of exactly where the issue is located within the park grounds.
  • Describe the issue in detail: Provide information about the problem and include a photo, if possible.
  • Contact information: While you can choose to remain anonymous with your report, providing contact information is helpful, so a member of our team can connect with you to get additional information about the issue.
  • Submit: Once you’ve completed the form, hit submit. Our parks maintenance team will be notified and will address the issue as soon as possible.

Why reporting matters

If left unchecked, small issues can become bigger problems. A simple report about a broken swing or a fallen tree branch can prevent accidents and keep our parks safe for everyone. Your report helps us respond quickly, whether it’s fixing a maintenance issue, addressing vandalism or ensuring that facilities are accessible to all.

Working together ensures our parks remain the vibrant, welcoming spaces everyone loves. So, next time you’re enjoying a walk in a park or playing outdoors, remember: If you see something that needs to be fixed, take a moment to report it. Your quick action can make a big difference.
