Residents will also have an opportunity to share their perspectives and ask questions.

The meeting is free and open to the public and will be live streamed online. Those wishing to speak during the event are encouraged to register online beforehand. Speakers will be called upon during the meeting in the order they signed up and each will have a three-minute time limit.

Town Hall Event Information

  • Location: Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library Auditorium
  • Address: 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452
  • Date: March 8, 2023
  • Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Virginia Beach event is the first of a series of town halls the CCA will hold throughout the Commonwealth in the first part of 2023.

In 2021, the General Assembly adopted, and the Governor signed into law, The Cannabis Control Act. The 2021 legislation established the CCA as an independent, apolitical subdivision of the Commonwealth dedicated to promoting public health and safety. The CCA serves as the principal source of government expertise on cannabis and has broad authority to develop, issue and enforce rules pertaining to the existing medical cannabis market and a prospective adult-use retail market. In addition, the CCA is charged with protecting consumers through balanced and inclusive cannabis regulation, policy, and education.
