Virginia Task Force Two (VA-TF2) Returning to Hampton Roads Sunday, Sept. 3rd

WHO: FEMA Virginia Task Force 2 Urban Search and Rescue Team (VA-TF2)

WHAT: Eighty members of Virginia Task Force 2 were activated as a Type 1 Task Force at 1400 hours on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, in response to Tropical Cyclone Idalia and deployed to Orlando, Florida, to provide support in the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Idalia. VA-TF2, was demobilized this morning at 0600 hours. They are traveling to Florence, South Carolina, where they will have a layover for the night. The plan is to return to Virginia Beach, Sunday, Sept. 3., tentatively to arrive at 1 p.m.
