Virginia Beach Winter Shelter Program Now Open
Partnership Between Housing & Neighborhood Preservation, PiN Ministry and Faith Community Provides Overnight Shelter for Homeless Adults
Overnight shelter for single adults (ages 18 and older) experiencing homelessness is available through the Virginia Beach Winter Shelter program. The program provides unsheltered individuals with a warm place to sleep each night at various faith organizations throughout Virginia Beach.
To access the Winter Shelter program, individuals must check in each day that overnight shelter is needed. Placement in Winter Shelter is not guaranteed as space is limited. Check-in times and locations are as follows:
Days Check-In Time Where to Check In Monday – Friday 4 – 6 p.m. Housing Resource Center Day Services
104 N. Witchduck Road Saturday and Holidays 5 – 6 p.m. PiN Ministry

310 N. Birdneck Road
Note: Winter Shelter will follow the holiday schedule on the following dates:

Transportation is provided from the check-in location to the shelter site. Each individual is allowed to bring one bag that is able to fit underneath their seat or in the overhead bin on the bus. Participants are picked up from the shelter site and dropped off at the Housing Resource Center or PiN Ministry, depending on the day.
The Winter Shelter program is supported by federal funds received by Virginia Beach Housing & Neighborhood Preservation. PiN Ministry, under a service agreement with the department, operates the program and provides participants with transportation. Participating faith organizations rotate weekly to provide overnight shelter and meals.
The Winter Shelter program runs through March 22, 2023. For more information about the Winter Shelter program, contact PiN Ministry at 757-962-3567.
