The meetings will include an overview of the housing study and small group discussions where attendees can share what they like or would change about where they live, housing-related challenges or problems they experience or observe, what resources would address these issues and what "affordable housing" means to them.
Members of the public who require accessibility accommodations or language interpretation services at the meetings should contact Sharon Shoff at 757-385-5836 or SShoff@vbgov.com at least three business days before the scheduled meeting.
In November 2022, the City Council approved an ordinance to fund an updated housing study and report, which was previously completed in 2016. The study will include VCHR's analysis of the current housing market and the identification of strategies to address the housing needs in Virginia Beach.
