VBPD Investigation Leads to an Arrest for Sex Crimes against a Minor

The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) began an investigation into a Virginia Beach City Public School Bus Driver, Michael Gunther II (M/31), following allegations made by a parent.

That investigation culminated on October 5, 2023, when an arrest warrant for one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and one count of Purchasing Tobacco for a Minor was obtained for Gunther. Later that day, Gunther, who resides in Virginia Beach, was arrested on his outstanding warrants.

As part of their investigation, VBPD executed a search warrant for Gunther’s residence. Additional evidence obtained resulted in Gunther being charged with five counts of Possession of Obscene Material of a Minor.
