VBPD Investigating a Shooting that Left a 4-Year-Old Injured

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 – VBPD is investigating a shooting into an occupied dwelling that occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. on July 7, 2023, in the 5100 Block of Dandy Ct. Officers responded to reports of gunshots and upon arrival located a residence that had been shot at multiple times. It was determined that no one inside the location was struck.

Moments later, Officers responded to Babney Ct. for a report of a 4-year-old with a gunshot wound. After investigation, detectives believe that a bullet traveled through the house of the original shooting and struck a child that was nearby but not associated with Dandy Court. The child was transported to a nearby hospital and received treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.
