VBPD Investigates Fatal Crash on Salem Road
On September 23, 2023, at 2:13 A.M., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a rolled over vehicle at the 2000 block of Salem Road.
Upon arrival, the driver of the vehicle, Edward Savitsky (M/53) of Virginia Beach, was pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle veered off the roadway when approaching a curve. It is believed that speeding and wet road conditions were contributors to the crash.
This case is being investigated by the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit and is open and ongoing.
