VBPD Arrests Two Involved with Drug Related Shooting
On August 17, 2023, at 7:53 P.M., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to reports of a shooting at the 1100 block of Level Green Boulevard. Officers located a 19-year-old male suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he survived his wounds. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.
VBPD Detectives determined this offense started out as a marijuana drug transaction that devolved into a robbery and shooting. Two suspects were identified, and warrants were signed for Antonio Jordan Jr (M/25) of Portsmouth for Robbery, Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony (two counts), and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.; and Ta’Shae Branch (F/24) of Chesapeake for Robbery, Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Conspiracy, and Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony (two counts).
On September 15, 2023, Jordan and Branch were apprehended by VBPD’s Warrant Fugitive Squad. At the time of his arrest, Jordan was in possession of a firearm resulting in additional charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Concealed Carry of a Firearm without a License.
