Special Session to Discuss City Council’s Position on House Bill 1528

​The Virginia Beach City Council will hold a special session on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, starting at 4:30 p.m. in City Council Conference Room, Building 1, City Hall, Room 2034, 2401 Courthouse Drive. Councilmembers Jennifer Rouse, Chris Taylor and Sabrina Wooten called this meeting to discuss the City Council's position regarding HB1528.

Virginia House Bill 1528 proposes altering the process for filling vacancies in the office of councilmember and mayor in the City of Virginia Beach by replacing council appointments with special elections.
