Results of 2022 Resident Survey Now Available

A random sample of Virginia Beach residents was invited to participate in the survey asking for their feedback on City programs, services, and priorities. The complete survey results can be viewed online at virginiabeach.gov/ResidentSurvey.

The City contracted ETC Institute, one of the nation's leading firms in the field of local government research, to administer the survey. The survey included some standardized questions utilized in communities across the country to allow Virginia Beach to benchmark the city against average ratings in other communities. The survey also included questions developed specifically for Virginia Beach to gain insights on particular issues that impact the city.

Some of the major findings from the survey showed that:

  • 91.4% of residents rate the quality of life in Virginia Beach as either excellent or good

Residents invited to complete the survey were randomly selected to ensure that the survey data would be statistically viable and that input from a diverse range of residents that reflect the demographic composition of the city with regard to age, geographic dispersion, gender, race and other factors was received.
