Members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) USAR Returning to Hampton Roads Today, Sunday, Aug. 11

 WHAT:                 VA-TF2 is Returning to Virginia Beach  

 WHEN:                 Aug. 11, 2024, at 6 p.m. (Approx.)

 WHERE:               Harry E. Diezel Fire Training Center, 927 South Birdneck Road

 WHY:                 The Virginia Beach-based Urban Search and Rescue Team, Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2), is returning to Virginia Beach today, Sunday, Aug. 11. They are expected to arrive at the Harry E. Diezel Fire Training Center, 927 S. Birdneck Road at 1800. They demobilized this morning at 0700 from Goose Creek, South Carolina, and are slated to be en route by 1000.

The Task Force was deployed to South Carolina on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, to prepare for Hurricane Debby. VA-TF2 USAR is one of 28 FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Teams positioned across the country. The team originally deployed 45 Person Type 3 and 8 IST Cache task force.
