Extensive Investigation Leads to Recovery of an Illegally Possessed Firearm and Pounds of Marijuana Seized
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On October 8, 2022, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD), 2nd Precinct Crime Suppression Squad (CSS), served several search warrants related to illegally possessed firearms and drugs.
After an extensive investigation, information was obtained which provided several locations where illegally possessed firearms and large quantities of marijuana were located. Officers located 20 pounds of marijuana and other THC related products. A firearm was also located and seized by officers.
The suspect was identified as Ian Dougherty, (M/18) of Virginia Beach. Dougherty was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana More Than Five Pounds, Falsifying a Federal Firearm Purchase Form, and Possession of More Than One Pound of Marijuana While in Possession of a Firearm.
