Resident Services Impacted as VBPD Moves Into New Headquarters and First Precinct

Some resident services handled by the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) will be affected from Feb. 26 through March 1 as the department moves into its new Headquarters and First Precinct building.

Resident services affected include:

  • Permits, Records, and Fingerprinting
  • Property and Evidence
  • Filing In-precinct Police Reports

Those wishing to file a police report during this time can do so on the VBPD website, or by calling (757) 385-5000 to have an officer dispatched. Permit, records, and fingerprinting services, as well as our property and evidence staff, will not be available during this time. Other VBPD precincts will remain open and operate normally.

The new headquarters and First Precinct, located at 2405 Courthouse Dr., features several key improvements that will assist VBPD in its mission to keep our community safe, including the state-of-the-art workspaces, the innovative Real Time Crime Center, a community space for public use and more. This facility will allow VBPD to take its approach to data, transparency and community-oriented policing to the next level.

The Virginia Beach Police Department is committed to providing a safe community and improving the quality of life for all people. This is accomplished by delivering quality police services and enforcing laws with equity and impartiality.

In partnership with our community members, organizations, and partners, VBPD reduces crime through public education, prevention, and awareness. In meeting this objective, the Department demands of its officers the highest professional standards and dedication to its core values.
