Residents can still make service requests by phone during the planned outage.

The VB311 service portal upgrade has been postponed and the planned outage has been canceled. Once a new upgrade date has been determined, we will share it with our residents. Thank you for your patience.

An enhanced user experience and improved mapping services are coming to the VB311 service portal. This tool is used by thousands of Virginia Beach residents to request bulky item trash collection, or report potholes, graffiti or other maintenance concerns for the City to address.

To complete the upgrade, the online portal will be unavailable from 6 p.m., Nov. 3, until 8 a.m. on Nov. 5. Don’t worry – you can still submit a service request through alternative methods during the outage.

Once the upgrades are complete, residents will have some new features available to make it easier to report issues to the City such as:

  • Drop a pin on a map to report the location of an issue. A specific address is not needed for certain requests, just place a pin on the map to indicate the location of the service request!
  • Select City-owned assets from the map such as storm drains, traffic signs/signals and streetlamps.
  • A consistent look and feel for the tool on mobile devices, desktop computers and within the VB Works app.
  • Single search option for service requests, knowledge articles and frequently asked questions.

When the portal is back online, users will need to update the VB Works mobile application to the latest version to access the service. The app is available for iOS and Android devices in their respective app stores.

About the VB311 Service Portal

The portal is a collection of informational services that allows Virginia Beach residents to report issues within the city. Fifty-two reporting types are available to report an issue, which is then automatically routed to the appropriate City department for resolution. Creating a free account allows users to track their submitted requests and provide case notes to the department working on the submission.

Residents can also submit service requests through the VB Works app.
