Special Delivery: Books and More, Right to your Door
Virginia Beach Public Library launches free delivery service for residents who are homebound.
Don’t let an extended injury or illness keep you from checking out library books! If you’re unable to visit a Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) branch for at least six months because of an illness, injury or disability, you may qualify for VBPL’s new Homebound Delivery Service.
Library staff will speak with you by phone about your reading interests, gather the materials for you, and deliver them to your home. For more information about this service for yourself, or someone you know, call VBPL’s outreach team at 757-385-0185, or send an email to OutreachRequest@VBgov.com.
Read, listen, learn and more, wherever you are!
Don’t forget, VBPL offers free online access to programs and resources:
- WebEx virtual book clubs, enjoy a casual chat about popular books with other readers.
- On-Demand programs, artist and author interviews, how-to videos and more on YouTube.
- VBPL’s digital library, digital e-books, audiobooks, music and movies.
- Online classes, free classes covering various topics such as technology, cooking, language, business and more from Universal Class, Great Courses and LinkedIn Learning.
For information on programs for all ages, reading challenges, and obtaining a free library account, visit Libraries.VirginiaBeach.gov.
